Description
Down the street and around the corner is the flower shop with the charm of a Paris boutique. Its green wood paneling and French doors open to flowers of all shapes and colors and greet the lady dressed in a salmon-colored, silk dress, so elegant and yet simple for a warm summer day in the city.
She begins gathering a bouquet of roses that match her dress, perhaps adding creamy white and crimson for variety. There will be guests later in the afternoon, and fresh flowers always add to every gathering.
The color of her dress started the process of this painting. I was craving color. I had visited a lovely flower shop in Paris that inspired the depiction of bunches of colorful flowers and vases surrounding a beautiful woman as she shopped. The woman's posture and form, the shape of the windows, the color of the walls, the geometry and perspective took time and effort, followed by layers of glazes that created depth and richness, which will add vibrant color to your room.
