Description
It is quiet. The large lily pads are resting effortlessly close to shore. The tall, green reeds create dark reflections. One lily in full bloom stands out above all the others in its soft white and pink glowing in the afternoon light.
This painting was inspired by water lilies I photographed at the Mission in San Juan Capistrano with its lovely gardens and reflecting pools. Nestled behind tall adobe walls, you can rest in the peaceful serenity, away from the traffic of everyday life.
Layers of glazes and a variety of tones and textures define and enhance the lily pads and their blossoms to bring a sense of relaxation and peace to your home.
